My Golden Birthday
I was born in '54 and turned 54 today.
It was a very casual, relaxed, do-nothing day
and I enjoyed every moment of it!
I received an abundance of cards.
And some very nice gifts.
Grandma brought home dinner from Panda Express for all of us.
The Correas brought cake (chocolate, of course) and ice cream.
and then put fire on it!

Independence Day 2008
I mentioned last year that we had a quiet 4th. Little did I know that it could get even quieter! But, it was a very good day.
Gabe made his awesome ribs. Sarah-Kate made a fantastic Tomato Basil Penne Pasta Salad, grilled pineapple rings, and a crumb cake. I added a few extras.
Like these:I would never have made these just looking at the recipe. I'm not a big fan of any of the ingredients. But, someone brought these to our last church fellowship dinner and they were absolutely fantastic! Pecan-stuffed dates. Absolutely delicious! Recipe courtesy of Paula Deen.
Having fun with Daddy!
Waiting for it to get dark.....
A brilliant ending to a wonderful day.

4th of July
May God bless America!
(Picture was taken Memorial Day 2005.)
"You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism." ---Erma Bombeck
Hope you have a fun day filled with great memories!
